Location: Local working arrangement (minimum 3 days per week on-site)
Contract Type: 3-month contract minimum

Rate: £42 per hour
Join Our Team as a Practice Development Officer
We are seeking an experienced and registered Children’s Social Worker to join our Workforce Development Team in a pivotal role. As a Practice Development Officer, you will play an essential part in supporting and mentoring our learners, delivering high-quality training, and promoting good practice throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver bespoke training programmes for:
    • Newly Qualified Social Workers
    • ASYE programme participants
    • Social Work Apprenticeships
    • Step-Up to Social Work candidates
  • Design and lead comprehensive training sessions, leveraging your expertise in:
    • Children’s legislation
    • Case management
    • Policies, frameworks, and procedures
  • Supervise and mentor members of the social care workforce
  • Support and collaborate with Practice Educators
  • Promote and advocate for best practice across the organisation
  • Contribute to quality assurance by participating in audits and improvement strategies
  • Work collaboratively to implement continuous professional development strategies for our social care workforce
Requirements
  • Registered Children’s Social Worker (Social Work England)
  • Experience in a Practice Development Officer role or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver high-quality training
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks
