M&E Surveyor

Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in North West London who are looking for an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Surveyor. This is a key role where you'll take the lead in maintaining essential systems and equipment across the housing stock, ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. From lifts and fire safety equipment to renewable energy solutions like solar panels and heat pumps, you'll play a vital part in keeping these services running smoothly and making a real difference to the community.

This is a Full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis offering up to £400 per day Umbrella LTD.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Inspection: Lead the upkeep and inspection of a broad range of systems, including lifts, door entry systems, alarm call systems, fire safety equipment, water testing, gas energy systems, communal heating, and renewable energy solutions (e.g., ground/air source heat pumps, solar panels).
  • Professional Expertise: Act as the lead professional, providing expert technical advice, design, and guidance for building contract procurement and cyclical maintenance works.
  • Project Management: Manage cyclical maintenance and improvement projects, ensuring completion within budget, timeframes, and quality standards, while maintaining compliance with statutory legislation, health and safety policies, and building regulations.
  • Customer Focus: Deliver all services with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, ensuring clear communication and support throughout project lifecycles.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest legislation, regulations, and best practices to maintain safety, compliance, and efficiency in all operations.


What We're Looking For:

  • Proven expertise in mechanical and electrical works, including both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory legislation, building regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Experience managing projects involving modern and renewable energy systems, such as heat pumps and solar technology.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A customer-centric approach, with outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
