Disposal Surveyor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Nottingham is currently recruiting for a Development Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority in a property development and disposal environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to lead a professional team delivering development, disposal, and valuation activities for an identified portfolio of assets and projects. You will support the review and rationalisation of the commercial portfolio, progress disposals from inception to completion, and contribute to the delivery of the Council's annual asset valuation programme.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Undertaking complex commercial negotiations and valuations.
  • Leading and line-managing a team of professional surveyors.
  • Reviewing assets for disposal and managing associated legal and financial processes.
  • Overseeing the safety and compliance of assets within the portfolio.
  • Acting as the primary liaison with developers, agents, and other professionals.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will require: MRICS with post-qualification experience and RICS Registered Valuer status. As well as significant experience in valuation practices, asset development and disposal, commercial property negotiations, and delivering property development projects.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Strong local authority experience (both private and local authority experience is an advantage).
  • Ability to analyse complex property issues and implement innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with stakeholders, including Councillors, tenants, and the public.

The client is offering £50 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35; approx. £40 per hour PAYE).
This role requires attendance at Loxley House every Wednesday and site visits as necessary. Candidates must live within 1.5 hours of Nottingham for consideration.
