Disrepair Surveyor

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor with a strong background in repairs, disrepair case management, and housing maintenance on behalf of a Local Authority in West London who are seeking a qualified professional to oversee and lead major repair and maintenance projects within a housing portfolio of approximately 17,000 homes.

This is a full time, temporary, ongoing contract offering up to £350 per day Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee disrepair, refurbishment, void works, day-to-day repairs, and damp/mould investigations.
  • Conduct pre/mid/post inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and building safety standards.
  • Manage Right to Buy surveys, ensuring landlord obligations are met.
  • Investigate and resolve structural issues, arrange testing, and recommend remedial actions.
  • Lead tendering processes, supervise contracts, and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
  • Provide expert technical advice and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous service improvements.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in Building Surveying, a construction qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of management experience in building surveying, housing repairs, or disrepair case management.
  • Strong knowledge of housing construction, maintenance, and defect diagnosis.
  • Experience managing housing repairs and maintenance contracts in a customer-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, including Disrepair Protocols, Health and Safety, and Building Regulations.
  • Excellent communication, budgeting, and IT skills for effective project and service delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, solve problems, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
