Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals? A National Charity is looking for a Housing Support Worker to provide support to tenants in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with housing management experience and a commitment to helping others achieve independence.


THE ROLE As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting tenants in supported housing, empowering them to gain independence and transition to more permanent housing. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with statutory and third-sector agencies to generate referrals for services.
  • Conducting initial assessments of service users’ needs and risks.
  • Designing and delivering person-centred support plans based on the needs of the service user.
  • Maintaining regular contact with service users and building strong professional relationships.
  • Carrying out health and safety inspections of properties and ensuring compliance with Decent Homes Standards.
  • Managing rent accounts and ensuring accurate record-keeping for rental income and housing benefit submissions.
  • Supporting service users to develop and follow move-on plans that identify options for independent living.

THE CANDIDATE To be considered for this role, you will need previous experience in housing support or a similar role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong experience in housing management and developing support plans.
  • Knowledge of anti-social behaviour management and appropriate reporting.
  • Experience engaging with service users and empowering them to achieve their goals.
  • Familiarity with health and safety procedures in housing environments.
  • Ability to collaborate with external agencies, such as the Probation Service, to provide holistic support.

THE CONTRACT
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
  • 3-month contract, with the possibility of temp-to-perm
  • £16.09 per hour LTD / £13.72 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
