Waste Management Supervisor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for a Waste Management Supervisor to join their Environment & Waste team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Waste Management environment.
 
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to supervise the Waste Transfer Station (WTS) and Waste Haulage Operations. You will manage a team of drivers and WTS employees, ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of services while meeting all statutory duties and responsibilities.
 
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Supervising a team of drivers and Waste Management Operatives to ensure smooth operations.
  • Managing recruitment, attendance, training, and disciplinary processes for the team.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Acting as CoTC holder for the WTS and providing cover when required.
  • Monitoring legal compliance for vehicles and drivers (tachographs, daily checks, etc.).
 
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
  • HGV Licence (or willing to work towards).
  • Driver CPC (or willing to work towards).
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
  • Experience managing teams in waste management or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of waste operations and related legislative compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
 
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £17 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £14 per hour PAYE).
