Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and making a difference in your local community? Join Solihull’s Housing and Communities team as a Temporary Accommodation Scheme Officer and help provide high-quality supported accommodation for homeless applicants.

THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Temporary Accommodation Scheme Officer to join Solihull's Homeless Service. You’ll play a key role in managing supported temporary accommodation and working closely with service users to help them achieve independent living.
  • Provide a high-quality, customer-focused accommodation service for homeless applicants
  • Maintain regular contact with residents and carry out welfare, room, and health & safety checks
  • Support applicants with Housing Benefit claims and move-on accommodation
  • Complete and maintain accurate records, risk assessments, and PEEPs
  • Ensure residents understand their licence agreements, rights and responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with support agencies to address complex needs including mental health and substance misuse
  • Manage void processes and liaise with contractors to maintain accommodation standards

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supported accommodation services, particularly with vulnerable adults, and will be comfortable working across multiple housing sites.
  • Proven experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs in temporary accommodation
  • Knowledge of homelessness legislation and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
  • Confident in conducting health and safety, welfare, and room checks
  • Ability to manage rent arrears, resolve housing issues, and liaise with partner agencies
  • Strong IT, communication, and organisational skills

THE CONTRACT
  • 35 Hours Per Week
  • 3 Month Contract (with potential for extension)
  • The pay for the role is £26.37 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £22.48 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
