Band 6 TB Nurse Specialist - Agency Role
Location:
  • The Poynt, Unit 2-3, Poynters Road, Luton LU4 0LA
  • Luton Treatment Centre, Vestry Close, Luton LU1 1AR
  • Luton & Dunstable Hospital
Start Date: ASAP
Placement Length: Ongoing
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Position: Full-time or part-time/job share options available
DBS: Enhanced
We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 TB Nurse Specialist to join a highly regarded team across multiple locations in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with a background in TB Nursing and Screening to provide specialist advice and support in both primary and secondary care settings. If you have a passion for infection control, preventative measures, and working within a multi-disciplinary team, we would love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist nursing advice for both primary and secondary care to prevent and manage TB.
  • Implement preventative and infection control measures, in collaboration with UK Health Security Agency staff, and other health professionals, according to agreed protocols.
  • Vaccination, education, and monitoring of patients receiving care and treatment for TB.
  • Support patient care within a multi-disciplinary team, across all directorates and departments.
  • Patient assessments and related work across a variety of clinical settings in a timely manner.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • RGN qualification with current NMC registration.
  • Post-registration experience in community or acute settings, with a strong background in TB management.
  • Experience in developing and working with protocols, PGDs, and clinical pathways.
  • Knowledge of screening, immunisation programmes, and infection control.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in clinical situations, with the ability to demonstrate adaptability to changing client needs.
  • Immunisation experience and ability to undertake patient assessments.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage patient care within a structured framework.
