Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 CAMHS RMN to join our team on a long-term placement at the Sue Nicholls Centre in Aylesbury. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and compassionate mental health nurse with experience working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). You will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support to young people facing mental health challenges and contributing to their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Treatment: Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized care plans for young patients.
- Intervention & Support: Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, ensuring that the care provided is holistic and tailored to each young person’s needs.
- Risk Management: Monitor and manage risk, ensuring the safety of service users and staff. Conduct regular risk assessments and adapt care plans accordingly.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, and therapists, to ensure integrated care delivery.
- Family Involvement: Provide education and support to families and carers, ensuring they are involved in care planning and decision-making.
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and support to junior nursing staff, ensuring the highest standard of care.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory and organisational standards.
- Professional Development: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in CAMHS, participating in training and development opportunities to continually improve skills and knowledge.
- NMC Registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration.
- CAMHS Experience: Previous experience working within a CAMHS setting, with a sound understanding of the challenges faced by children and adolescents with mental health issues.
- Band 7 Experience: At least two years’ experience working at a Band 7 level, demonstrating clinical leadership and advanced practice.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate leadership in a dynamic environment.
- Enhanced DBS Check: A current, enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
