An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a Homeless Outreach Support Team in Guildford, working directly with rough sleepers and those at risk of homelessness.


THE ROLE


As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering person-centred, trauma-informed support to help individuals secure stable accommodation and rebuild their lives.

  • Provide structured support to vulnerable individuals at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.
  • Work proactively with clients to develop personalised support plans, setting clear goals and actions.
  • Assist clients with tenancy-related matters, including benefit applications and budgeting.
  • Conduct referrals and assessments to determine the most suitable housing options.
  • Ensure access to external support services such as mental health, substance misuse, and employment programmes.
  • Maintain accurate records, including risk assessments and progress reports.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure effective service delivery.


THE CANDIDATE


The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role supporting vulnerable individuals.

  • Previous experience in homeless outreach, housing support, or a related social care setting.
  • Knowledge of best practices in crisis intervention and planned support work.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


THE CONTRACT

  • 12-week temporary contract with potential for extension.
  • Full-time role - 37.5 hours per week.
  • Driver with access to a car required (parking available on-site).
  • Competitive pay rates: £15.66 LTD / £13.35 PAYE (inc. holiday pay).
