A Local Authority in South Yorkshire are currently recruiting for a Starting Point Hub Navigator to join the Homeless Service in Doncaster, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support individuals facing multiple disadvantages.
THE ROLE
As a Starting Point Hub Navigator, you will work within a hostel environment to provide person-centred support to individuals experiencing rough sleeping and complex needs. Your role will focus on engagement, developing tailored support plans, and collaborating with housing and support providers to identify suitable move-on pathways.
- Provide tailored support and key worker sessions to individuals based on need
- Develop and update support plans to show progression, activity, and outcomes
- Work collaboratively with voluntary and statutory agencies to coordinate care
- Address barriers to progress with individuals and external partners
- Plan exit strategies based on progress and ongoing needs
- Recognise and respond to warning signs and potential crises
- Maintain accurate and professional records, adhering to safeguarding and data protection standards
THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for a compassionate and resilient individual with prior experience in a similar role supporting those with complex needs such as homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, or offending behaviour.
- Experience of casework, support planning, and working with complex behaviours
- Strong partnership working skills with a solution-focused approach
- Understanding of homelessness and housing law
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and the impact of trauma
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and manage risk effectively
THE CONTRACT
- 37 Hours – This post is on a 4 on, 4 off rolling shift pattern, rotating over an 8-week cycle. The shift pattern includes weekends and bank holidays. Post holder will commence on Week 1 (Monday start).
- 3 Month Contract
- The pay rate is £17.83 per hour LTD or £15.20 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday)
