About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Justice Social Worker to join Sutton Youth Justice Team. This role is pivotal in supporting young people who have been involved in the criminal justice system and working towards reducing reoffending and promoting positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of young people subject to post-court orders or in custody, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, maintaining case notes, and initiating breach proceedings when necessary.
Represent the Youth Justice Team in court, preparing and delivering high-quality court reports and making recommendations.
Conduct holistic assessments of children and their families, developing intervention plans tailored to their needs.
Perform risk assessments and collaborate with families and victims to promote safer communities and reduce the likelihood of reoffending.
Support children on the periphery of criminalisation through early intervention and preventative measures, working closely with their families to provide guidance and support.

We are looking for a passionate and committed professional who thrives on making a positive impact on young people's lives. The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with vulnerable young people and families, using a trauma-informed approach to encourage behavioural change.
Possess strong engagement skills, particularly with young people resistant to intervention, and demonstrate innovative approaches to building trust and relationships.
Be highly organised, with the ability to produce detailed assessments and reports to a high standard in line with statutory guidelines.
Be a team player, willing to support colleagues and contribute to the success of the wider service.
