Service Care Solutions are working with Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to recruit a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to support a Stroke - acute and rehabilitation unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

The contract duration is for 4 months with the likelihood of extension. This is a full-time placement with 37.5 hours available. Part-time applications of 3 Days or more will also be considered.

Hours: Mon - Fri, 8.30-4.30 or 8.00-4.00
Contract Duration: ASAP for 4 months (flexible)
As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care and Rehabilitation:

    • Provide occupational therapy for post-stroke patients in acute and rehab settings.
    • Conduct assessments and implement treatment plans to enhance independence and quality of life.
    • Collaborate with patients, families, and carers on goals and daily activity support.

    Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration:

    • Work with the MDT, including Stroke OTs, for holistic patient care.
    • Participate in MDT meetings to discuss progress and coordinate care.
    • Liaise with the wider MDT for daily management support.

    Discharge Planning:

    • Lead discharge planning for safe patient transitions.
    • Develop and implement plans for therapy, equipment, and community support.

    Clinical Documentation:

    • Use Systm1 for accurate clinical documentation.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines.

    Professional Development:

    • Participate in induction and ongoing hospital training.
    • Engage in continuous professional development.

    Prioritisation and Time Management:

    • Manage a diverse caseload effectively.
    • Adapt to changing clinical demands to ensure timely service delivery.

    Quality Improvement:

    • Contribute to best practices in stroke care.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapy qualification
  • HCPC Registration
  • Experience working with stroke patients
