Nursery Practitioner

Job Summary

Hampshire County Council are currently seeking a Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner to work in one of their children's nurseries based in Eastleigh. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 6 months - 5 years, in line with Early Years Foundation Stage. This is a temporary role and offers a pay rate of £16.40 umbrella per hour.

  • Encouraging children's development
  • Creating a child-friendly environment
  • Maintaining toys and play equipment
  • Keeping records

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development or equivalent
  • First Aid Paediatric Certificate
  • An enhanced Children's DBS
  • GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • Previous experience working in an early years setting is desirable - working within a childcare setting caring for babies and children aged 6 months - 4 years
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with staff and parents
  • Awareness of child protection and data protection issues relevant to the post
