Leaving Care Personal Advisor

Job Description

Personal Advisor – Care Leavers Service (Warrington)
 Full?time, permanent

Are you passionate about helping young people make a confident, successful leap into adult life? Warrington’s “GOOD”?rated Care Leavers Service is expanding—and we’re looking for an outstanding Personal Advisor to be the final, vital link in a care?experienced young person’s journey.

Why this role matters From a young person’s 16th birthday until they turn 25, you’ll be their go?to professional: the practical problem?solver, the trusted listener, the one who makes things happen when they need it most. You’ll help them build the skills, resilience and networks that turn independence into opportunity.

What you’ll be doing
  • Champion independence: Craft and deliver pathway plans, working alongside social workers, carers and, most importantly, the young person themselves.

  • Provide wrap?around support: Offer both day?to?day guidance (housing, education, employment, benefits) and emotional encouragement that keeps care leavers moving forward.

  • Respond when it counts: Travel across the region and step in quickly during crisis situations, coordinating partner agencies to keep young people safe.

  • Shape an ambitious Local Offer: Contribute to our Living?Well Hub drop?ins, workshops and resources—innovations designed with our young people, for our young people.

  • Be their steady point of contact: Sometimes you’ll be the only professional in a care leaver’s life; your consistency will make the difference.

What we’re looking for
  • Proven Personal Advisor experience (or a closely related role working with care?experienced young people).

  • Minimum NVQ?Level?3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.

  • 5 GCSEs (A–C / 9–4) including English & Maths.*

  • Up?to?date knowledge of the Children (Leaving Care) Act?2000 and related legislation.

  • Confidence to build partnerships with housing, health, education and community providers.

  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel.

  • The ability to converse at ease and provide clear, accurate advice in spoken English.

In return, you’ll enjoy
  • A supportive, forward?thinking team rated GOOD by Ofsted.

  • Ongoing professional development and reflective supervision.

  • A growing Local Offer you can help shape.

  • Generous leave, pension and flexible?working options.
