We are currently recruiting for a Homeless Prevention Advisor to join a Local Authority team in Camden. This is a full-time temporary role, where you will play a key part in preventing homelessness by providing expert housing advice and support to vulnerable individuals and families.
THE ROLE
As a Homeless Prevention Advisor, you will work closely with individuals at risk of homelessness, providing tailored advice and solutions to help them secure stable housing. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough housing needs assessments and developing personalised housing plans
  • Providing expert advice on housing options, welfare benefits, and financial support
  • Working in line with the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act
  • Liaising with housing associations, landlords, and support agencies to secure housing solutions
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with data protection policies
  • Supporting individuals with employment, training, and wellbeing opportunities
  • Collaborating with internal teams to maximise homelessness prevention efforts
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within homelessness prevention, housing options, or social housing. Additionally, you will have:
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and homelessness policies
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and working with at-risk groups
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding caseload
  • Experience working in partnership with external agencies and stakeholders
THE CONTRACT
  • Temporary – 3 months
  • Office-based role in Kings Cross, Camden
  • The pay range for the role is £23.00 to £25.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £19.61 to £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
