We are currently recruiting for a Homeless Prevention Advisor to join a Local Authority team in Camden. This is a full-time temporary role, where you will play a key part in preventing homelessness by providing expert housing advice and support to vulnerable individuals and families.
THE ROLE
As a Homeless Prevention Advisor, you will work closely with individuals at risk of homelessness, providing tailored advice and solutions to help them secure stable housing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough housing needs assessments and developing personalised housing plans
- Providing expert advice on housing options, welfare benefits, and financial support
- Working in line with the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act
- Liaising with housing associations, landlords, and support agencies to secure housing solutions
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with data protection policies
- Supporting individuals with employment, training, and wellbeing opportunities
- Collaborating with internal teams to maximise homelessness prevention efforts
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within homelessness prevention, housing options, or social housing. Additionally, you will have:
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation and homelessness policies
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and working with at-risk groups
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding caseload
- Experience working in partnership with external agencies and stakeholders
- Temporary – 3 months
- Office-based role in Kings Cross, Camden
- The pay range for the role is £23.00 to £25.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £19.61 to £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
