About the Role
Doncaster Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Emergency Alarm Response Team Responder to join our vital community-based service on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This rewarding role involves responding to emergency alarm activations from vulnerable residents across the borough, ensuring they receive timely support, care, and reassurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency alarm calls in residents’ homes.
- Provide immediate support, assess needs, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with emergency services, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- Complete clear and accurate reports following each incident.
- Support residents with compassion, dignity, and respect at all times.
- 3 days on, 3 days off rota
- Shifts are either:
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Average 26.25 hours per week
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Experience working with vulnerable adults—particularly older people or those with additional needs.
- Confidence to work independently and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Calm, compassionate, and professional demeanour.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
