Family Support Worker

Join an established Family First Service as a 0-18 Family Support Worker, where you'll play a vital role in providing targeted and coordinated support to families with diverse and complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work with families, help them overcome challenges, and empower them to achieve their aspirations.

  • £18.22 LTD per hour inclusive of holiday pay
  • 37 hours per week
  • 2 month initial contract with possibility of extension after this

Responsibilities
As a Family Support Worker, you will:

  • Work directly with families to address practical and emotional challenges, such as school attendance, parenting strategies, and family dynamics.
  • Assist in assessments and create outcome-focused intervention plans in partnership with children and parents.
  • Deliver individual and group-based interventions on topics like sexual health, substance misuse, and anti-social behaviour.
  • Promote a "Think Family" approach to enhance family strengths and respond effectively to identified needs.
  • Support safeguarding and child protection processes, ensuring the safety and well-being of young people.
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to audits, and help improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate with schools and communities to provide restorative practices and support.

Requirements
We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with families and young people with multiple needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Is comfortable managing challenging situations and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Can work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Holds a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous personal development.
