Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
About the Role
We're seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Customer Service Officer to join the team at Somerset Council. As the first point of contact for residents, you'll provide exceptional advice and support across a range of council services, including Council Tax, Waste, Benefits, Highways and Transport, Planning, and Licensing.
This is a busy and rewarding role where you'll assist customers face-to-face in our Bridgwater office, as well as through telephony and online digital support, helping residents navigate services with ease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional front-line customer service, handling high volumes of enquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Provide advice and assistance on a wide variety of council services.
- Promote and support digital solutions, encouraging customers to self-serve where possible.
- Accurately log and manage customer interactions using multiple IT systems.

Additional Information:
This role is office-based at Bridgwater House and falls inside IR35. The contract runs until 31st March 2025, with potential for extension based on workload.
