Job Title: Business Support Officer
Salary: £12.83 PAYE P/H (Inclusive of Holiday Pay) | £14.24 P/H LTD Umbrella
Hours: Full-Time
Type: Temporary Ongoing
Location: Cheshire, CW10
Start Date: ASAP


Join a vital support team working at the heart of essential services in Cheshire East. As a Business Support Officer, you will be key to delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support across Waste & Street Cleansing, Parks & Grounds, and Fleet Services. Your work will help ensure smooth operations, positive public engagement, and timely service delivery.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Efficient use of IT systems (MS Office, IBS, Oracle) to maintain databases, manage orders and invoices, and generate reports.
  • Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and via email – resolving queries and escalating when necessary.
  • Carry out a range of clerical and administrative duties including managing insurance claim paperwork, risk assessments, and daily worksheets.
  • Support financial processes including vehicle hire arrangements, income reconciliation, and work costing data input.
  • Organise and attend team meetings and events, ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
  • Assist with public engagement including surveys and campaign events.
  • Maintain structured and accurate filing and recording systems.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Level 2 RSA Word Processing or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience in administrative roles within an office setting.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Oracle systems.
  • Attention to detail with fast and accurate data input.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally in sometimes challenging situations.

Additional Information:
You must be able to travel across Cheshire East if required. A flexible, can-do attitude is essential, along with the ability to prioritise workload and deliver under pressure.
