Location: GL5
Hours: 18 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Contract: 8 weeks
Rate: £15.02 per hour (umbrella)

Stroud District Council’s Community Services Team is seeking a Business Support Assistant to provide vital administrative support across key services, including Community Safety, Health & Wellbeing, Children & Young People, and Environmental Services.

About the Role As a Business Support Assistant, you will work closely with internal teams, communities, and key partners to help deliver essential services. You will be part of a small, dedicated team supporting the Careline community alarm service and managing the Council’s contract with Ubico.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support across Community Services, including Health & Wellbeing, Youth, and Environmental initiatives.

  • Assist in the delivery of the Careline Service for vulnerable residents.

  • Support the digital switchover installation roadmap and promote the new digital service to residents.

  • Act as the first point of contact for public enquiries via phone and email.

  • Manage and triage anti-social behaviour (ASB) reports, gathering additional information where required.

  • Assist with service complaints, FOI requests, and general service-related enquiries.

  • Contribute to business process reviews and digital transformation projects.

  • Provide financial support, including raising invoices, purchase orders, and debt chasing.

  • Assist with document production and minute-taking when required.

About You We are looking for an individual with:

  • Administrative or business support experience, ideally in a public sector or customer-focused environment.

  • Strong communication skills and experience working with partner organisations and stakeholders.

  • A solution-focused and customer-centric mindset.

  • The ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial administration.
