Join Ashfield District Council as an Assistant Executive Director – Operations on an interim basis. This pivotal role supports the Executive Director in implementing a service review, resolving operational matters, and leading "lift and shift" arrangements.
THE ROLE
As the Assistant Executive Director – Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the smooth implementation of key organisational changes.
- Support the Executive Director – Operations in the implementation of a service review
- Resolve operational matters effectively and efficiently
- Lead the execution of lift and shift arrangements for cloud migration
- Implement officer/councillor procedures in line with governance frameworks
- Prepare an Officer Decision Record for additional lift and shift activities
- Assist in the recruitment process for an Assistant Director and Service Manager
- Ensure deliverables are met within the agreed timeline and quality standards
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Community Safety and Local Government, along with a strong background in programme management and change implementation at a senior level.
- Proven experience in senior leadership within Local Government
- Expertise in Community Safety policies and operations
- Demonstrable ability to manage organisational change and transformation
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Experience in programme management, with a focus on service delivery improvements
THE CONTRACT
- 9-5 Monday to Friday (60% office-based)
- 6-month contract (initially 3 months, with likely extension)
- £400.00 per hour LTD company rate / £341.01 per hour PAYE equivalent (inc holiday)
