We’re currently recruiting for an Aftercare Personal Advisor to join a dedicated Early Help & Children’s Social Care team in Trafford. This is a full-time, 3-month contract to start, with potential to extend – ideal for someone committed to providing outstanding support and advocacy to care leavers transitioning to independence.
? Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support under the Children Leaving Care Act 2000
- Work closely with care leavers to develop independence and life skills
- Offer practical and emotional support around housing, income, education, training, and health
- Maintain regular contact and build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Collaborate with Social Workers to develop and implement Pathway Plans
- Promote young people's voices, advocacy, and engagement with their community
- Keep accurate case recordings and ensure regular plan reviews
- Experience working with young people in social care or similar setting
- Sound knowledge of The Children Act 1989, Children Leaving Care Act 2000 & the Keep on Caring Strategy
- Strong multi-agency collaboration experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A values-driven approach with an understanding of safeguarding, equality, and diversity
- Driving licence and own car – essential
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends if required
- NVQ Level 3 in Childcare/Social Care or equivalent – desirable
- Hybrid working model (3 days office / 2 days remote)
