Swimming Pool Assistant

Service Care Solutions have an exciting vacancy for a client we are working with based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Our client are seeking a Swimming Pool Assistant to join on a permanent contract working a total of 32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

The Purpose of this role will be to Supervise the security and safety of Swimming Pool Users and carry out rescues as required while also undertaking basic pool maintenance and cleaning duties as required.

The key responsibilities in this role will be to:

  • Comply with pool safety operating procedures at all times.
  • Constantly scan the pool while in use and be prepared to take action in the even of emergencies.
  • Check the safety of pool equipment and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, plant or building fabric to the Head of Estates.
  • Perform regular pool inspections including that of safety equipment such as rescue aids and alarms in accordance with the operating procedures.
  • To assist with the assembly and dismantling of equipment as required.
  • Undertake basic maintenance of the pool which can include backwashing, filter cleaning and poll water testing as directed.
  • Ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the pool area at all times.
  • Carry out regular checks of the changing facilities, paying particular attention to safety, facility operation, security, cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Comply with the Health and Safety procedure of the Pool at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.
  • Report any maintenance issues using appropriate means.
  • Assist the Head of Estates and Swimming Instructors with any tasks involved in the operation of the pool.
  • Assist in emergency evacuations of the pool for example during fire alarms.


We are seeking a candidate who is will to train for the National Rescue Award.

You will have previous knowledge, skills and experience in:

  • Assisting within a Swimming Pool environment
  • Experience in the application of pool security and rescue techniques
  • Teamworking and respecting, considering others
  • Providing excellent communication
  • Reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Preparing routine administrative paperwork relating to the pool
  • CPR and emergency medical procedures
  • Following routine verbal and written instructions
  • Maintaining vigilance without distraction to ensure pool safety
  • Understanding how SEN Students and their staff teams may use the pool
  • Ensuring all pool users have an enjoyable and safe experience


Benefits
Salary of £19,644 + £1,113 SEN Allowance Per Annum plus a £100 Welcome Bonus payable after successfully completing 6 months.
