Strategic Contract Manager

A client within the Public Sector based in Lincolnshire is currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join their transport and energy team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within the public sector.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to carry out successful contract management which includes to mobilise contracts, manage the delivery and performance of contracts.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • take lead responsibility for managing a large portfolio of high-risk contracts across a range of services covering budgets significant value and proactively holding all suppliers to account or efficient and effective value for money service delivery.
  • be responsible for ensuring supply chains are understood and managed as well as highlighting any supply chain issues. To monitor the health and status of suppliers and identify and report any circumstance that may impact on underpinning the contract.
  • review the quality, relevance, performance and effectiveness of contracted arrangements with Suppliers and oversee and lead on modifications, negotiations and non-compliances to improve service delivery and value for money.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to be educated to degree level or have the relevant work experience.

It will be essential to have an extensive level of knowledge of the below:

  • Detailed experience of delivering contract management processes and effective relationship management on a wide variety of contracts.
  • Extensive knowledge, understanding and experience public procurement, including relevant law and commercial negotiation.
  • Able to establish credible relationships across suppliers and other external organisations that command professional confidence.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £212 per day Umbrella Ltd.
