Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice relating to policies impacting children and young people.
- Draft legislation pertaining to redress for historical child abuse in care, looked after children, and youth justice.
- Support the implementation of The Promise, an Independent Review of the Scottish care system.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure a sound understanding of public and administrative law in Scotland.
- Communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively to both colleagues and stakeholders.
- A thorough understanding of public and administrative law in Scotland. Currently a Practising Solicitor, registered with the Law Society of Scotland.
- Strong ability to manage and interpret data to support decision-making processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships.
- An organized approach to workload management, adapting to varied priorities as needed.
