Service Care Solutions has a new and exciting opportunity which has become available working as a SEN Advisory Officer with Cheshire West and Chester Council

Cheshire West and Chester Council are currently looking for someone who is happy to work 37 hours per week.

Job Purpose
The SEN Advisory Officer will contribute to local authority targets regarding SEN statements and Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans. The role aims to raise the achievement of pupils with SEN, reduce exclusions, and improve inclusive education provision within schools.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Advise schools on early identification and effective provision for pupils with SEN, ensuring compliance with relevant Education Acts and the SEN Code of Practice.
  2. Monitor SEN provision to ensure appropriate support for pupils, challenge underperformance, and intervene where necessary to ensure progress.
  3. Review and assess statements of SEN and EHC plans, attending review meetings and ensuring curriculum differentiation and appropriate teaching strategies are in place.
  4. Contribute to the School Improvement programme, supporting schools identified with weaknesses by the LA and OFSTED.
  5. Collaborate with schools and agencies to ensure a coordinated, multi-agency approach to SEN service delivery using the Common Assessment Framework.
