Rate: £20.36 umbrella an hour (£16.10 PAYE an hour)
Southampton City Council are looking for a Travel Officer to join their School Travel Service.
Responsibilities:
- To play a key role in the operational provision for the School Travel Service
- Deliver school travel planning and transport operator procurement for the effective delivery of safe, suitable and sustainable school travel arrangements, including continuous route optimization and issue resolution and incident management, and provide support to junior staff
- Organise and maintain the school travel database and liaise with internal/external stakeholders such as Children’s Services, Health and Safety, Procurement, schools, colleges, parents/carers and a range of other agencies
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade C or Level 6 and above
- Experience of operational school travel services, or similar, working with a range of suppliers and delivery partners
- Problem solving skills working in pressured environments
- Records management and maintenance of databases
- Experience of excellent service delivery, coordinating services working with a range of suppliers and delivery agents
