School Improvement Officer
Duration: 6 months initially
Hours: 37 hours a week
Rate: £240 umbrella a day
Bristol City Council are looking for a School Improvement Officer to join their team. As a School Improvement Officer you will:
- Support the effective delivery of the Local Authority's duty in relation to provision in LA maintained schools by working with headteachers, principals, and leadership teams
- Contribute to the co-ordination of sector-led and school-to-school support in school improvement work and to the strategic development and evaluation of LA school improvement strategies, focusing on city-wide priorities
- Evaluate the quality and impact of the LA's duty
- Work closely with the LA Early Years Improvement Officer, Early Years Teaching School and lead teachers in providing support to schools and education
- Identify and promote good practice and provision so that, where necessary, improvements are accelerated, secured in schools across the school system in both the primary and secondary sectors
Requirements
- Degree and qualified teacher status
- Successful senior leadership experience at primary phase or in a Local Authority at school improvement level
- Up-to-date knowledge of recent national developments in school legislation and the implications of these for school improvement and school effectiveness
- Qualified and/or experienced Ofsted inspector
