Job Advert: Repairs Coordinator

Location: Bristol, BS4 
Rate: £16.39 Ltd per hour
Duration: Up to 18 months, with the possibility of permanent or fixed-term roles in the future
Working Pattern: Office-based for the first 2-3 months, with the potential for hybrid working (up to 2 days per week from home) once fully competent and subject to operational requirements.

About the Role We are seeking a Repairs Coordinator to join our Responsive Repairs team within the Growth and Regeneration directorate. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth scheduling of repairs and tasks, keeping residents informed, and optimising resource planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and allocate repairs to on-site colleagues, ensuring timely and effective completion.

  • Keep tenants and stakeholders updated on the progress of repairs, managing expectations and rearranging appointments when necessary.

  • Liaise with operatives, surveyors, and trade managers to ensure work is completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.

  • Monitor repairs in real-time and update systems with accurate notes reflecting the current status.

  • Identify and act on any health and safety concerns.

  • Manage shared team email inboxes and respond to enquiries professionally and efficiently.

  • Provide advice and guidance to customers, contractors, and colleagues regarding repairs and scheduling.

  • Ensure adherence to council policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Key Skills & Experience Required:
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle enquiries professionally.

  • Proficient IT skills, including the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.

  • Experience in scheduling or coordinating tasks is desirable.

  • Knowledge of housing services or repairs scheduling is advantageous but not essential.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with trade managers and supervisors to ensure effective resource planning.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
