Registered Mental Health Nurse – Cambridge (NHS, Contract Role)

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work within a 24-hour NHS mental health service in Cambridge. This is a contract role offering flexible shifts Monday to Sunday, with competitive pay rates of £27 Ltd (umbrella) for days, and enhanced rates for nights and weekends.

Role Overview: As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to patients within a mental health setting. You will be expected to take charge of shifts when required, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acting as Nurse in Charge on designated shifts, overseeing patient care and supporting the team.

  • Conducting assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

  • Providing compassionate, person-centred care in accordance with NHS guidelines.

  • Administering medication and monitoring patients’ mental and physical well-being.

  • Liaising with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, and social workers.

  • Ensuring all documentation and patient records are accurate and up to date.

  • Promoting a safe, therapeutic environment for patients.

Requirements:
  • Valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).

  • Previous experience working in a mental health setting, preferably within the NHS.

  • Ability to manage a caseload and work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in a Nurse in Charge role or confidence in taking on leadership responsibilities.

  • Strong understanding of professional accountability and clinical governance.
