Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Lincolnshire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Construction team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a construction environment.
 
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for delivering high-quality and professional Quantity Surveying services to support the delivery of the clients construction works programmes.
 
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Preparation and administration of contract documents, including BoQs and activity schedules.
  • Managing tendering processes, evaluating bids, and recommending contract award procedures.
  • Negotiating with suppliers on tenders, variations, claims, and contractual matters to protect the Council’s interests.
  • Ensuring financial control of individual projects, monitoring expenditures, and producing financial reports.
  • Providing commercial support and advice to internal teams, including building surveying, architecture, and engineering.
 
The Candidate To be considered for this role, you will require:
  • A degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience).
  • Full corporate membership of an appropriate professional body (RICS or similar) or significant industry experience in lieu.
  • High-level knowledge of construction legislation, contract law, procurement, and contract administration (NEC/JCT contracts).
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations and the Building Safety Act.
  • IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and project planning software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
 
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £400 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £320 per day PAYE).
