Job Title: Building Safety Programme Manager
Contract: (9-12 Month Temp Contract)
Location: London
Rate: £300 - £400 per day
Client: London-Based Housing Association
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Safety Programme Manager to lead and manage our Building Safety and Compliance Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected housing association in London on a temporary basis (9-12 months), ensuring the safety and compliance of a diverse portfolio of residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of the Building Safety and Compliance Programme, ensuring sufficient resources (budget, personnel, and expertise) are allocated efficiently.
  • Update and manage the programme plan using Microsoft Project, including status and performance reports.
  • Coordinate and monitor qualified contractors and consultants to conduct comprehensive building safety surveys, including asbestos assessments and assurance activities.
  • Ensure all safety surveys and related activities comply with relevant building legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Facilitate access for safety surveys, coordinating with building occupants and managers to minimize disruption.
  • Provide contractors and consultants with relevant documentation (floor plans, safety assessments, maintenance records) ahead of surveys.
  • Deliver clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including building owners, managers, tenants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Review and approve survey reports, assess identified risks, and implement corrective actions to improve safety outcomes.
  • Conduct peer reviews for quality assurance of submitted reports.
  • Maintain accurate safety data records and integrate findings into the Golden Thread of Information and relevant corporate systems.
  • Evaluate the programme's effectiveness, implementing adjustments to enhance efficiency and safety outcomes.
  • Ensure that survey results, corrective actions, and lessons learned are documented and integrated into future safety strategies.
  • Lead resident communication and engagement activities as part of the programme.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing large and complex safety programmes from conception to completion.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Proficient in using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) and data management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of building safety legislation, compliance standards, and health & safety practices.
  • Ability to produce comprehensive reports, analyze data, and develop strategic safety plans.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while leading a team.
