Programme Manager

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in the West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Programme Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within the public sector within a technical management environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to act as the technical manager for current and future capital projects and minor works, including the management and setting and monitoring of performance measures and the development, management and interpretation of data to provide management information.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • be responsible for providing a wide range of professional guidance on day-to-day and complex project and programme management activities within PFHS and the wider Council.
  • develop a Programme Risk Register associated with schemes being undertaken.
  • act as the key client in management of capital projects and minor work through the Property partnership and other third parties.
  • ensure continuous improvement by assisting in the development and review of policy, process and procedures in line with delivering key services to the Council.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to be educated to degree level in a subject relevant to the post, such as Architecture, Project Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, etc.

It will be essential to have an extensive level of knowledge of the below:

  • Good understanding of programme and project management techniques
  • Awareness and understanding of the local government framework, governance arrangements
  • Extensive knowledge of delivering and managing strategic and long-term capital building programmes

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £450 per day Umbrella Ltd.
