Probation Officer

Service Care Solutions are the current holders of the National Probation Service contract. We specialise in the criminal justice sector and have access to all vacancies across the country offering a wide range of opportunities!
We are currently looking for an experienced Probation Officer to join South Central Probation Service.

LOCATION: HMP Albany, Isle of Wight
HOURS: 37 hours per week
DURATION: 3 Months
PAY RATE: £22.44 - £26.45 p/h (Depending on experience)

Probation Officer Duties

  • The person will need to have experience working within prison as a Prison Offender Manager. Manage a caseload of service users whilst handing over key information to community Probation Officer



Essential Requirements

  1. Possession of a Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/ Honours Degree in Community Justice integrated with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice, or a recognised qualification by the Secretary of State for Justice as per Section 10 of the Offender Management Act 2007.
  2. Evidence of working for a recognised provider of probation services in the last 5 years.
  3. Experience and knowledge of evidence based practice and risk/needs assessment tools, including OASys, SARA and RSR, for risk assessment and management, including the ability to use/learn quickly.
  4. Experience of writing detailed reports to strict deadlines and quality standards, including Court reports including completion of the RSR tool, and parole reports.
  5. Experience of using and maintaining Probation Service computer based systems to produce, update and maintain records and other documentation within agreed timescales - NDelius and OASys.
  6. Working knowledge of Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements
