Service Care Solutions are seeking a dynamic and motivated Markets & High Street Officer to manage the day-to-day operations for our client in South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving occupancy levels, enhancing customer experience, and increasing footfall through events and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily opening, closing, and security of the market, including alarm settings.
  • Supervise and coordinate rotas for a team of two market staff.
  • Oversee cleanliness, waste management, and maintenance of the market premises.
  • Monitor and manage stallholder licenses and tenancy agreements.
  • Handle stall lettings, applications, and communication with traders.
  • Organise events and promotional activities to drive market footfall.
  • Act as the first point of contact for trader queries and complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best operational practices.
  • Maintain accurate records, including stallholder details and meter readings.
  • Monitor energy usage to ensure efficiency.
  • Engage with local businesses and support economic growth initiatives.

What We are Looking For:
Essential:
  • Experience in a customer-focused, business-supportive environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • First Aid and Lifting & Handling certification (or willingness to train).
  • Willingness to work weekends and occasional out-of-hours.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • Experience in event planning and marketing.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a retail or market environment.
  • Welsh language proficiency.
