Job Description

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Plumber , you will be responsible for carrying out a range of plumbing, and other trade tasks to maintain and improve our properties and communal areas. You will be expected to provide high-quality service, ensuring work is completed to professional standards and in compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-Trade Competence:
    • Perform a variety of tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, and masonry, both internally and externally, at a multi-skilled level.
    • Ensure all tasks align with the Skills Awards L2/3 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations or equivalent qualifications.

  • Professional Standards:
    • Execute work to a professional standard, adhering to building regulations, codes of practice, and industry best practices.
    • Maintain high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all tasks.

  • Customer and Colleague Liaison:
    • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to keep them informed of progress and actions taken.
    • Refer complex cases to line managers for guidance and to identify necessary remedial actions.

  • Customer Service:
    • Deliver high-quality service to Abri customers, maintaining positive customer relationships and acting as an ambassador for Abri.
    • Demonstrate Abri's values in all interactions and uphold the company's reputation.

  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
    • Conduct risk assessments and follow method statements, ensuring safe working practices, appropriate use of PPE, and equipment handling.

  • Efficiency and Accuracy:
    • Aim to deliver works on time and right the first time, minimizing rework and ensuring efficient operations.
    • Accurately use a 'Schedule of Rates' for job costing repairs, and ensure repair orders reflect the correct v
  • Material Procurement:
    • Procure job-related materials through main partnering suppliers, ensuring adherence to company policies.
    • Manage resources effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks

Qualifications and Requirements


  • Multi-Skilled Proficiency:
    • Competent in performing a wide range of carpentry, plumbing, and other trade tasks at a multi-skilled level.

  • Relevant Experience:
    • Demonstrable experience in carpentry and plumbing across various property types.
    • Experience working within a trade team to deliver projects on tight timelines, ensuring quality and efficiency.

  • Educational Background:
    • Minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification in carpentry, masonry, or plumbing, or equivalent time-served experience in the field.
    • Proven competency in non-core trades, demonstrating adaptability and versatility in maintenance operations.

  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • Possess a full, clean driving license, enabling travel between work sites as needed.
