Assisting with the: COVID-19 Inquiry

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland

Contract Type: 8 Months

About the Role

The Scottish Government is seeking a dedicated and motivated paralegal to support the COVID-19 Inquiry team. This role is crucial in assisting with legal research, document preparation, and the overall organisation of the inquiry process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and summarise findings relevant to the COVID-19 inquiry.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, reports, and submissions.
  • Organise and maintain case files and evidence for the inquiry.
  • Attend meetings and assist in note-taking and documentation.
  • Support the inquiry team in managing time lines and deliverable.

Essential Criteria

  • A degree in law or a relevant qualification in legal studies within Scots Law.
  • Previous experience in a paralegal role or in a legal environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with public inquiries or government processes is an advantage.
