Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (Temporary Contract)
Service Care Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to work as part of the Intermediate Care Service within the NHS in Cambridgeshire. This is a temporary agency contract with the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care.
Key Details:
- Location: Cambridgeshire (various community and acute settings)
- Contract Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
- Hourly Rate: £27 per hour (Ltd)
- Payment Terms: Weekly payments via an umbrella company
Role Responsibilities:
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, managing your own caseload.
- Undertake holistic assessments of patients with acute, complex, and multiple pathologies, using specialist clinical reasoning skills.
- Support the acute NHS Trust in Emergency Departments, Acute Assessment Units, and other areas to prevent hospital admissions and expedite safe discharges.
- Supervise and support junior staff, students, Assistant Practitioners, and Integrated Care Workers to deliver high-quality care and achieve competencies.
- Conduct risk assessments, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Provide adaptive equipment, rehabilitation programs, and therapy interventions to promote independence and reduce hospital stays.
- Engage patients and carers in care decisions, keeping them at the center of the care plan.
- Work independently in community settings, with access to Advanced Practitioners as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Nursing (e.g., BSc, MSc, or Diploma).
- Registration: Current HCPC or NMC registration.
- Experience: Relevant post-graduate clinical experience in acute and community settings.
- Skills: Clinical supervision, evidence-based practice, and excellent time management.
