Are you experienced in night support and ready to make a positive impact on young lives? We are seeking a Night Support Worker for a charity-based young people's service in Harlow, dedicated to providing essential safety and support overnight to residents aged 16-21 with complex needs.

THE ROLE
As a Night Support Worker, you will ensure the security and safety of the facility and its residents overnight. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing building security and promptly addressing any faults or issues.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for service users and external agencies.
  • Implementing night security protocols to safeguard the service.
  • Monitoring and logging access, including visitors, and tracking incidents.
  • Recording and managing incidents, addressing or escalating antisocial behavior as needed.
  • Adhering to health and safety policies to maintain a secure environment.
  • Escalating incidents to on-call services as required.
  • Keeping detailed records, including incident logs, handover notes, and support plans.


THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar night support role, particularly with vulnerable young people. Key requirements include:

  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, ideally in supported housing.
  • Proven ability to work independently and responsibly during night shifts.
  • Strong skills in incident management and reporting.
  • Familiarity with implementing and adhering to security protocols.
  • Excellent written communication skills for maintaining accurate records.


THE CONTRACT

  • 35 hours per week, 8:15 pm - 7:45 am Monday to Friday, including 1 in 4 weekends.
  • 6-month contract with potential for a permanent role.
  • Pay rate: £18.47 per hour (LTD) or £15.75 per hour (PAYE, inclusive of holiday).
