Job Advertisement: Housing Support Worker

Location: 16-17 Devonshire Sq, London EC2M 4SQ
Nearest Train Station: Liverpool Street
DBS Level: Enhanced Adult DBS
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 10 am - 6 pm (35 hours per week with 5 hours unpaid lunch)
Car Driver Needed: No
Own Vehicle Needed: No
Valid Business Insurance Required: No

The role involves supporting rough sleepers who have been housed in their own self-contained flats.

Key Responsibilities:
Housing Management: Oversee and manage housing arrangements for rough sleepers.
Support Services: Provide support related to benefits, mental health, and drug and alcohol issues.
Tenant Meetings: Meet with tenants three days a week (Wednesday to Friday) for case management.
Office Work: Spend two days a week (Monday and Tuesday) in the office.
Lone Working: Independently manage a caseload of 15 tenants.

Main Duties:
Conduct housing management tasks to ensure tenants' accommodation is well-maintained and suitable for their needs.
Provide tailored support to tenants, addressing issues related to benefits, mental health, and substance abuse.
Maintain regular contact with tenants, conducting meetings and follow-ups to assess and support their progress.
Complete necessary documentation and reporting as required by the role.

Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: Previous experience in housing management and support for vulnerable populations is preferred.
Knowledge: Understanding of benefits systems, mental health challenges, and drug and alcohol issues.
Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
