Fire Engineer

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in East Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Fire Engineer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to support the range of new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects and management of corporate buildings by providing expert advice for construction related advice, fire strategies, fire design and risk assessments.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Undertaking detailed surveys and audits at sites to provide guidance on fire safety and compliance
  • Managing fire safety services installations, including the design of cost effective, efficient and compliant solutions
  • Providing subject matter expertise on project planning, risk mitigation and issue resolution across fire safety matters and existing buildings We are looking for you to demonstrate significant specialist fire safety knowledge, developed through relevant industry training and practical experience along with the following:

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require higher-level qualification within a relevant fire safety, fire engineering or related discipline as well as a professional membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers along with professional qualifications in Structural Engineering.

It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:

  • Experience within a commercial fire safety role will be complemented by your knowledge of Microsoft Offices tools and AutoCAD
  • Experience delivering fire strategies and risk assessments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, alongside the ability to produce accurate written documentation in the form of surveys and reports.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £31.64 p/h Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £25 p/h PAYE)
