Family Support Worker - Safeguarding Service

Job Description

Liverpool Safeguarding Service is seeking a passionate and experienced Family Support Worker to join an established Social Care team. In this role, you will support the delivery of interventions and direct work with children, young people, and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in child care and family support who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children.

  • 35 Hours per week
  • This role is paying at £16.60 LTD inclusive of holiday pay
  • Initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension after that

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outreach and home-based support to children, young people, and families, addressing areas of identified need.
  • Provide practical support and interventions in collaboration with multi-agency teams, including Health, Education, and Family Support Services.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals, using strong written and verbal skills to ensure a high level of service.
  • Maintain accurate and reflective records in line with Recording with Care guidelines.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to help parents meet the needs of their children.
  • Support the overall operation of the Service by working flexibly across services.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education, NND, or Health and Social Care qualification.
  • Experience in direct work with children, young people, and their families.
  • Proven experience in collaborative and multi-agency working to support children and families.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with professionals and families in various settings.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence, access to a car, and a laptop.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering practical parenting strategies and knowledge of child development.
  • Understanding of child protection issues, including the signs and symptoms.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work in partnership with parents and professionals.
