Employability Coordinator

Job Description

Service Care Solutions are looking for a Employability Coordinator to work within Manchester College on a contract basis.

Location: Manchester

Job role/responsibilities:
You will be responsible for planning, developing, and securing a wide range of work experience, industry placements and work-related activities for your cluster/team, supporting learners, tracking, monitoring, and enhancing their employability skills and curriculum. You will be required to work in partnership with the College's Careers, Employability and Welfare team, the Student Experience team and with all curriculum departments and their Employability tutors to deliver an outstanding professional employability service.

  • Embed and deliver the employability strategy within the department, supporting vocational reform, T Levels, and promoting industry placements.
  • Coordinate employability activities to meet departmental needs and ambitious KPIs, including 100% work experience targets for Level 2 and 3 and industry placement growth.
  • Monitor progress towards KPIs and targets, collaborating with curriculum departments and senior leadership to address any issues.
  • Promote employability skills valued by employers, representing the college at relevant events and networks.
  • Record and monitor learner participation in work experience on Pro-Monitor and Connect, adhering to guidelines and risk assessments.
  • Use strong organizational and communication skills to manage relationships with learners, employers, curriculum staff, and stakeholders.
  • Engage employers to maintain and create partnerships, ensuring quality work experiences for learners.
  • Prepare and coach learners through placements, maintaining regular contact with all parties to ensure a quality experience.
  • Visit and mentor learners in the workplace, monitoring progress, and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Assist learners with employability skills like CV writing, interview preparation, and application forms.
  • Collaborate with leadership and Marketing to celebrate learner and employer successes.

Knowledge/Experience required:

  • Experience of delivering qualifications, education, or employability sessions.
  • Experience of delivering group work sessions as well as working on a 1-2-1 basis with participants.
  • Experience of developing external relationships with employers and other agencies.
  • Experience of utilising computerised management information systems.
  • Experience of working to targets, implementing monitoring, and recording systems.
  • Experience of delivering programmes that are focussed on soft skills, mentoring and employability.
