EHC Coordinator

Duration: Initially 5 months
Rate: £300 umbrella a day

The City of Westminster Council are looking for a highly skilled and experienced EHC Coordinator to join their team. As an EHC Coordinator, you will be responsible for undertaking the statutory assessment process of an EHC needs assessment and the issuing of EHC Plans within twenty weeks as per the statutory deadlines, which is in accordance with The Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice January 2015.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking the statutory assessment process of an EHC needs assessment and the issuing of EHC Plans within twenty weeks as per the statutory deadlines
  • Ensuring that EHC Plans are high quality, person centred and outcome focused and based on the evidence from the child or young person, their families, schools and other educational settings, educational psychologists, medical officers including therapists, social workers and any other professionals working with the child or young person
  • Coordinating services and practitioners around the child and young person and their family
  • Facilitating multi-agency meetings
  • Providing emotional and practical support as required as part of a trusting relationship; and enabling and empowering the child and young person and their families to make decisions

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable extensive experience of working in an SEN service
  • Demonstrable experience of writing high quality EHCPs
  • Demonstrable experience of excellent verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrable experience of meeting statutory deadlines and working in autonomy as well as within a team
  • High level of self-resilience
  • Recent experience of working within an LA SEN service
  • Excellent IT, verbal and written skills

Working Hours and Location:

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday (36 hours a week role, core hours 10am to 4pm, 7hours 20 minutes per day). This is a hybrid role with an expectation of attendance at meetings in the borough on at least a weekly basis.
