Early Support Practitioner

Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 36 hours a week
Rate: £17 umbrella an hour

Job Description:

Harrow Council are seeking an Early Support Practitioner to take an active role in the Early Support model, ensuring high quality direct work takes place with children, young people and their families.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
  • A full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Early years care and education vocational qualification level 3 or above and commitment to study to level 4 and above.
  • Level 2/3 certificate in Youth Work.

Responsibilities:

  • To take an active role in the Early Support model to ensure high quality direct work takes place with children, young people and their families.
  • To be a champion in key areas of the service and act as a role model to peers and support well planned, quality evidence-based provision.
  • To work with other staff at the centres and Youth Offending Team in the provision of integrated care, health and education activities, parenting programmes, individual work, group work and in a range of targeted universal and universal plus interventions planned to ensure good outcomes for Early Support.
  • To offer support, advice and guidance to Early Support practitioners in their work at the centres, and to take responsibility for the planning, and overseeing others planning, of high-quality evidenced based care, health and education activity sessions for our client groups.
  • To lead, with others, the planning of services for the age ranges 9-19/25 years across Early Support and take responsibility for supporting the activity plan across the service sites.
