Development Manager

A Local Authority based in North London are currently recruiting for a Development Portfolio Client Lead to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, permanent role offering hybrid working from their North London office and is looking for someone to join them asap on a salary between £68,000 - £75,000 per year.

The Council is looking for a high calibre project and programme portfolio manager to help shape and deliver mix tenure housing developments to support the significant growth across the borough.

The post holder will report to the Assistant Director of Development Partnerships & Regeneration. The role will also involve working with Strategic Directors, Directors, Assistant Directors and other service leads, and Housing, Economy and Placemaking to ensure consistent strategic alignment and reporting directly to relevant Boards and senior Council groups on a number of strategic portfolios.

Requirements:

  • A degree in any property related or development consultancy discipline such as surveying, (or working towards such) of a professional body in the land and property discipline such as RICS or RTPI or other appropriate professional qualifications
  • significant development experience, preferably in the public sector
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project / programme management qualification

  • Drives projects from a management perspective, prioritising and delivering against objectives.
  • Driven ambition to get projects done to an excellent standard
  • Experience of working at senior management level in the delivery of project /programmes within a Local Government environment
  • Experience of housing and non-housing led regeneration, compulsory purchase orders, land assembly and joint venture partnerships to facilitate developments in key areas of the borough
  • Knowledge and practical delivery of schemes from inception to occupation and project closure (post defects resolution period). i.e. RIBA stages 0-7.
  • Experience of developing a strong network of contacts within the public and private sectors.
  • Being able to autonomously set your own direction in order to achieve the best results possible.
