Compliance Inspector gas and water

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Central London is currently recruiting for a Compliance Inspector to join their gas and water safety team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within the public sector within a gas safety environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to carry out gas or water site technical inspections audits and ability to drive through improvements.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • inspect, specify and analyse repairs required to a wide range of defects, both domestic and commercial/industrial (including major defects).
  • monitor and check repairs and maintenance work to ensure that they are complete to the required standard within agreed timescales and to the satisfaction of the residents and relevant Housing Services staff.
  • maintain control of costs by specifying accurately and completely all the work necessary for the rectification of a defect.
  • manage and monitor installation, service and maintenance contracts to ensure compliance with the Council's requirements.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require a have a full clean driving license and will be required to carry out visits to various buildings which may require them to use stairs and accessing site areas via ladders and access equipment.

  • Gas ACS qualifications to a domestic standard . Commercial accreditations desired along with experience of commercial gas systems.
  • Plumbing background or good working knowledge of hot and cold water systems required with an experience of legionella management preferred.
  • Excellent Knowledge of and experience of statutory requirements for Gas and Water with good basic knowledge of general health and safety ,electrical ,asbestos and fire. when applied to gas and water works.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £28 - £30 per hour Umbrella Ltd.
