Catering Tutor

Job Description

Service Care Solutions are looking for a Catering Tutor to work within HMP Feltham on an ongoing contract basis.

Location: Hounslow, London

This role is a temporary ongoing position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to community improvement through education. The successful candidate will be instrumental in mentoring learners, enhancing their skills and knowledge in Catering, and supporting their future employment prospects post-release.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Deliver high-quality, learner-focused vocational training in Catering.
  • Mentor learners to develop their skills and knowledge in the field.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to provide comprehensive support to learners.
  • Engage with learners to motivate and inspire them towards achieving their educational goals.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit the diverse needs of learners within the prison environment.
  • Work in a practical kitchen environment and classroom as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Catering professional.
  • Qualifications in Catering or Professional Cookery at Level 3.
  • Ability to track and monitor learners' progress against course criteria.
  • Ability to gain, hold, and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering NVQ Level 1 Catering course.
  • City & Guilds qualification in Catering.
