Job Opportunity: CCTV Enforcement Officer
Location: London Borough of Hackney
The London Borough of Hackney is looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Parking & Markets Services team as a CCTV Enforcement Officer. This role involves operating on-street CCTV cameras to record potential parking, bus lane, and moving traffic contraventions.
About the Role:
As a CCTV Enforcement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the CCTV enforcement traffic and parking operation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and efficiency of our community.
Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence: Operate all equipment within the control room, including the parking enforcement camera system.
Observation and Documentation: Use the CCTV system to observe and document parking, bus lane, and moving traffic contraventions. Make contemporaneous notes, follow procedures for evidence gathering, and store relevant data.
Evidence Handling: Handle and prepare evidence and witness statements, attend court if required, and maintain all records, reports, and other data as necessary.
Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with other Council Services, Police, Council Security, and Emergency Control Staff. Operate and use all equipment responsibly and in accordance with guidance.
Health and Safety: Exercise health and safety responsibilities, ensuring compliance with safe working practices and emergency procedures.
Equality and Diversity: Uphold and further the Council's equal opportunities policies and apply CCTV enforcement procedures in accordance with the Council's Values.
Incident Reporting: Report incidents promptly, attend court or adjudication panels when required, and submit evidence when called upon.
Professionalism: Adhere to the Council's dress code and undertake any other duties as required and commensurate with the role.
Requirements:
Experience: Experience in CCTV enforcement or CCTV surveillance/monitoring is desirable. Demonstrated commitment to equalities in employment and service provision.
Qualifications: Level 2 BTEC in CCTV Traffic Enforcement. Relevant qualification/experience for ANPR enforcement.
Knowledge/Skills: Understanding and ability to follow guidelines for Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection, and other statutory requirements. Basic computer skills, administrative skills, and enforcement knowledge.
